Lessons for the Ukraine humanitarian response
The full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia in February 2022 came as a shock to the world. Like all wars, it has taken a brutal toll of death, destruction and suffering on many communities.
The conflict has caused the greatest displacement of people in Europe since the Second World War. It has also led to huge humanitarian need and challenges for the sector.
As humanitarian agencies continue to respond to the war in Ukraine, ALNAP has shared these key lessons from the past to support them to learn, plan and adapt.
