At the end of the interventions of CARE response to the 2010 floods in Benin in the towns of Aguegues, Dangbo, Adjohoun, Bonou, Ouinhi, Zagnanado, it appears timely to appreciate the strengths and the weaknesses in order to learn lessons from the good practices and the stakes for the risk reduction of such disasters and to impact positively the vulnerability of the flooded areas population that benefited from CARE’s assistance. This final assessment aims at appreciating CARE’s response to the 2010 floods in the concerned towns through the analysis of the level of satisfaction of the beneficiaries according to their vulnerability and to analyze the effects, challenges and prospects in order to ensure sustainability of the interventions assets.
The methodology used combined literature review and field surveys. The sample is constituted of 206 individuals (direct beneficiaries, no beneficiaries, local authorities, the town council focal point for floods, the responsible of NGO partners and the responsible of council technical services).
