International Organization for Migration (IOM)
IOM works across the full spectrum of humanitarian and development-orientated crisis transition activities and delivers coordinated, timely, and context-specific assistance and protection to populations in need, including but not limited to, internally displaced persons, refugees, other migrants, and host communities. IOM is committed to respond to the evolving needs of those impacted by, or at risk of, crises and displacement. While IOM provides life-saving responses to crises, it simultaneously works to address the underlying drivers and longer-term consequences of crises and displacement and undertakes pre-emptive preparedness and risk reduction interventions. This approach aligns with IOM’s commitment to strengthen the humanitarian development nexus.
IOM emphasises the importance of being a learning organisation as well as investing in stronger governance and accountability by strengthening its efforts in monitoring and evaluation, which includes ensuring that decision making is more informed by robust monitoring systems and evaluative approaches. IOM is committed to improving the capacity of its staff in M&E and making evaluation findings more accessible for staff and external users. IOM’s M&E strategy (2018-2020) guides these efforts.
