WHO Patient Safety team has provided a suite of tools to support health-care facilities in implementing a multimodal strategy in order to improve hand hygiene practices among health-care workers. Health-care facilities are encouraged to start with the Guide to implementation of the WHO Multimodal Hand Hygiene Improvement Strategy. This is a key tool that provides comprehensive advice on how to develop an effective action plan and how to use the other tools.
