This review examines the implementation of UNHCR's Women Victims of Violence Project (the WVV Project) in Kenya, launched in October 1993 and integrated into the Office's general operations in that country in July 1995. The review was conducted with a view to identifying the lessons learned by UNHCR in the course of this unprecedented project, and making recommendations regarding its replication, as a whole or in part, in other situations where persons of concern to the High Commissioner risk physical assault of similar gravity. A summary of this evaluation was presented to the Sub-Committee on Administration and Finance of the Executive Committee in June 1995.
