The City of Makati is the business capital of the Philippines where many high-rise and low-rise buildings have been built for business and residential purposes. The risk of a catastrophic fire in this area is our main concern in order to protect lives, property and investments. This Sound Practice pertains to the reduction of fire incidents in high-rise and low-rise buildings and to fire safety awareness in the City of Makati. The Fire Safety Compliance Award Program was established in 1999 as a joint project of Makati Fire Safety Foundation, Inc. (MAFSAFI), City of Makati, Makati Commercial Estate Association, Inc. (MACEA), and Rotary Club of Makati.
