ACT Alliance is a global alliance of churches and church-related organisations related to the World Council of Churches (WCC) and The Lutheran World Federation (LWF). ACT’s mission is to work together for positive and sustainable change in the lives of people affected by poverty and injustice through coordinated and effective humanitarian, development, and advocacy work.

Evaluations help us to measure and demonstrate the change that we aspire to create and to cause improvements in our work.

The ACT evaluation policy and guidelines are complementary instruments that respectively set broad directions and implementation arrangements for ACT evaluations and they ensure ‘evaluations are conducted in an objective, impartial, open and participatory manner, based on empirically verified evidence that is valid and reliable, with results being made available and utilized’1. The evaluation policy and guidelines are part of ACT humanitarian mechanism and, specifically, the aim is to promote and common standards and practices for evaluation of ACT appeals. Evaluation is justly considered to be part and parcel of ACT’s regular disaster response.
