Given the complex nature of the Syrian conflict, the question of how to achieve more and better humanitarian assistance inside Syria has been particularly challenging. This field report by Refugees International advocates for supporting the Syrian aid organisations that international actors rely on to deliver the vast majority of assistance and including them in all aspects of the design and implementation of humanitarian action. It outlines the essential contribution of diaspora networks to the Syria response, and it makes a stand for building the capacity of local organisations.
