Al Aswak Sahat Al Daftar neighbourhood, detailed in the profile report, has shown its specificity within the area of old Tripoli. it is a neighbourhood of historic character. The neighbourhood is spatially and socially detached from its surrounding context, perimetered by an isolating surrounding road, inadequate infrastructure and perceptions of insecurity. The Neighbourhood Profile analysis suggests the need for a multi-sectoral strategy that aims to enhance access to adequate shelter, basic urban services and social services, in an effort to further improve access to livelihood opportunities and social stability.
The Neighbourhood Strategy is a phased and strategised action-oriented spatial tool that is informed by the Neighbourhood Profile. It recommends multi-sectoral interventions that focus on improving living conditions through developing a stabilised community, upgrading basic urban services and housing, and strengthening of sustainable governance.
