In May 2016, the principals of 15 humanitarian agencies and 15 government donors met in Istanbul and launched the “Grand Bargain”. Faced with a growing gap between spiralling humanitarian needs and the resources available to meet them, they agreed to take actions together to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the humanitarian ecosystem. One year later, their ranks have swelled.
From the original 30, they are now 52 signatories, and they gathered together in Geneva on 20 June 2017 for their first Annual Meeting to take stock of progress and define their priorities for the next year.
