The Australia Afghanistan Community Resilience Scheme (AACRS) ($24.3 million 2014-18) aims to increase the resilience and livelihoods of rural Afghan communities. The Scheme focuses on the most vulnerable, particularly women, youth and people living with disabilities.
DFAT commissioned an independent review of AACRS in 2017 to assess progress and identify potential ways to improve the Scheme’s impact and sustainability. The review was intended to inform DFAT’s future decision-making for AACRS and policy dialogue with the Afghan Government and relevant international and non-government stakeholders.
