This field report by Refugees International (RI) looks at the issue of registration of Syrian babies born in exile in Turkey. It outlines the birth registration process and the obstacles displaced Syrians face when trying to register their newborn, and formulates conclusions and recommendations aimed at informing policy-makers and humanitarian actors and, in doing so, reducing the risk of statelessness among Syrian refugees and their children born in Turkey.
