The EC-ECHO1 funded project “Community Based Disaster Risk Management Project in the Rasht valley” (TJK-1063) focuses on increasing the awareness of local communities and mitigation capacity of civil organizations and local authorities in order to prevent and respond to natural disasters. The project is being carried out in 18 target villages, which were selected at the beginning of the project. Three of these villages are participating in a current natural resource management project funded by the EC and implemented in the same area by Welthungerhilfe local partner organisation AZAL2.
On all levels, Welthungerhilfe has a very good reputation in Tajikistan and its activities are very much appreciated by the representatives of the target group, local authorities and international donor organisations.
