CARE Mozambique’s After Action Review of Cyclone Favio

The After Action Review examined CARE Mozambique’s response to Cyclone Favio. Major findings from the Review include a need to proactively influence the media in order to mobilize more resources from the international community, and a need to start systematically training communities in emergency preparedness for cyclones – Mozambique’s changing weather patterns due to global warming reveal that cyclones and other weather phenomena will only become more frequent in the coming years. It follows that CARE Mozambique should exchange information with local and national governments and draft Emergency Preparedness Plans jointly with governments each year.
