The present Crime Prevention Assessment Tool is designed as a full component of the Criminal Justice Assessment Toolkit, developed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in the category of cross-cutting tools. It will be complementary to the forthcoming technical manual to accompany the United Nations Guidelines for the Prevention of Crime, adopted by the Economic and Social Council in its resolution 2002/13, and the guidelines for cooperation and technical assistance in the field of urban crime prevention (resolution 1995/9). 1.
