DFID’s Conflict and Humanitarian Affairs Department appraised UNHCR’s programme for emergency preparedness and response in Tanzania from 24 - 29 January 2000, with the help of representatives from the British High Commission in Dar es Salaam and UNHCR London. The purpose of the appraisal was to assess what support DFID might give to the programme, and to make a more general analysis of UNHCR as an institution.
