An Operation Evaluation
The mid-term evaluation covers the Egypt Country Programme 200238 “Leveraging National Capacity through Partnerships for Food and Nutrition Security (2013-2017)”. It was intended for both accountability and learning and focuses on assessing:
- the appropriateness and coherence of the operation;
- its results; and
- the factors explaining the results.
The original CP design included the following activities:
- supporting national institutions in food security monitoring and analysis;
- school feeding (SF) and combating child labour, namely with livelihood supports to women
- building resilience through the climate change project and food assistance for assets (FFA);
- and improving nutrition through technical supports for food fortification.
The evaluation, which makes a number of recommendations for the future, was managed and conducted by a consultancy firm, with fieldwork taking place in March 2016.
