This research report explores the experiences, guidelines, reports, initiatives and best practices relating to participation methods among aid agencies’ COVID-19 response. A secondary data and literature review, as well as interviews with 20 agencies in 17 different humanitarian responses were analysed in order to identify best practices and lessons learnt from community engagement efforts in and outside of camp settings. The findings are particularly relevant for camp management and camp coordination agencies, but will also be useful to develop humanitarian agencies’ community engagement approach during a pandemic.
