The Khost Maternal Health Project is a critical intervention in Khost, Afghanistan. Initiated in 2011, it aims to reduce neonatal and maternal mortality in Khost province by providing Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (CEmONC) services.

This evaluation was conducted by The Knowledge House (TKH) from June to December 2024, deploying a ten-member team including six field researchers. It was carried out in strong collaboration with the MSF Stockholm Evaluation Unit (SEU) and the Consultation Group (CG) and examines the project’s relevance, effectiveness, impact, sustainability and resilience, offering evidence-based recommendations for future improvements.
