A sample of other international assistance projects was also included in order to look at the impact of natural disasters across a range of international assistance programming. Though reconstruction programming could have been more timely, and targeted fewer people, the Philippines program was ultimately able to respond to the short and longterm needs of those affected by the typhoon. In addition, the program was aligned with the Philippine Government’s priorities and complemented other programming in the region.
