This new study titled analyzes how current patterns of UN financing undermine the foundations of inclusive and effective multilateralism. The authors argue that member states should reform the system of assessed contributions and increase the transparency of voluntary funding. It shows how fragmented funding structures and donor preferences undermine inclusive multilateralism, leaving UN entities under‑resourced and overly shaped by Western donor priorities. The study concludes with reform options to rebalance financing and strengthen the UN’s capacity to address global challenges.
