Fit for the Future: Envisioning New Approaches to Humanitarian Response

The traditional humanitarian system is reaching more people than ever before yet falling short of global need. A fragmented global aid architecture struggles to adapt to the demands of the twenty-first century. Past reform efforts have not addressed deep power imbalances, needless rivalries, and perverse institutional incentives. A new multi-year research initiative at the Center for Global Development aims to develop actionable reform options to overhaul outdated power structures and institutional incentives.
