Biophysical Indicators

The average vegetation condition index for the county is 37.9 which is above the threshold of >35.

But the current vci indicates a declining trend when compared with previous value of 39.61

Sub counties of Dadaab and Fafi are in moderate vegetation deficit condition.

Dry and hot weather condition prevailed in the entire county in the month under

Water sources currently in use are boreholes, River Tana, spring, and few water pans

Socio Economic Indicators (Impact Indicators)

The body condition of livestock was rated fair for cattle and sheep while good to fair for camel and goats

Milk production was recorded at 20.4litres which is below the normal of 36 litres.

There are normal livestock migration patterns in the county.

The terms of trade is currently traded at the ratio of 1:59.96which is favourable to the pastoralist.

The return distance to water sources had increased and recorded at 9.38km which indicated above the normal range of <5km

The MUAC levels for at risk to malnutrition increased to19.4% which is above the threshold of <13.4%
