The Guidebook on Community Engagement for Preparedness and
Resilience offers American Red Cross (ARC) Chapters a comprehensive strategy for working in communities to increase disaster preparedness and build resilience. It is intended as a resource to guide American Red Cross employees and volunteers in planning, implementing and monitoring disaster preparedness activities in collaboration with community networks.
The Guidebook is designed to help readers:
• Understand what it means to foster preparedness and resilience; • Collaborate with networks in the community to improve preparedness and resilience; • Improve their capacity to engage and work with the community; and • Improve their capacity to monitor preparedness programs and evaluate the impact.
