Aah 2015 smart canada final evaluation png

The overall objective of the evaluation is to review the progress of the project against its original objectives. Furthermore, the evaluation's purpose is to aid the future design of SMART Global Programming, whilst also assessing what ECHO/OFDA funding was able to add to the outcome, along with the organisation’s overall capability.

The project was implemented by ACF Canada (AAH-CA) from 1 July 2013 until 19 September 2015, endorsed by the Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC). The context of the operations department is the SMART Initiative and its multiple activities, which are carried out at a global level. ACF Canada as SMART Project Convenor oversees a complex worldwide programme whose overall aim is to support the improvement of the nutrition survey response capacity using the SMART methodology. The first version of the SMART (Standardised Monitoring and Assessment of Relief and Transitions) Methodology was published in 2006 with the purpose to devise a basic, integrated method which measures Mortality, Nutritional Status, and Food Security in crisis situations.
