In response to the floods in September and October 2000 in Southwest Bangladesh, Oxfam Bangladesh undertook a relief programme, funded through two donations from DFID and one from ECHO, and a rehabilitation programme, funded through one donation from DFID. This is the first time that Oxfam-B has undertaken a programme in this region of Bangladesh.
