A practitioner’s guide

This guide aims to help humanitarians conduct better labour market analysis (LMA) to inform livelihoods and market strengthening programs in emergency, crisis, and post-crisis settings. It contains guidance and recommendations on ways of improving the appropriateness, scope, and precision of labour market assessments and analysis and references existing tools and approaches.
This guide and associated mapping seek to share learning and experiences from labour market analyses specifically in the Syria crisis response, with the aim of improving the quality of the growing number of LMAs beginning to be conducted around the world.
This guide is aimed at programme staff, practitioners and market analysts somewhat familiar with market assessments but as yet unfamiliar with labour market analysis in humanitarian contexts.
