Working Party on Global and Structural Policies
There is an increasing recognition of the impacts of climate change in cities. Around half of the world’s population live in cities, and they act as centres of economic and political activity within countries and regions. There is therefore a growing resonance in considering city-scale issues in order to progress climate policy discussions. Against this background, the OECD has commissioned a study to Tundertake a literature review on climate change impacts on urban areas (cities), and to review and evaluate the methods used in the published literature, to formulate policy relevant conclusions on the basis of this literature, and to identify evidence gaps and research needs.
