This Somalia country profile, produced as part of ICVA’s study on localisation in humanitarian leadership, analyses the extent and quality of local and national NGO participation within Somalia’s IASC coordination structures. Using data from OCHA’s Annual Coordination Mapping exercise alongside country-level inputs, it examines the factors that enable or hinder meaningful engagement by Somali L/NNGOs. The profile highlights emerging good practices, persistent structural barriers, and opportunities to strengthen locally led leadership, offering practical insights for the effective inclusion of Somali actors in coordination and decision-making processes.
