Pacific Urban Forum 2011 Outcomes Document

The 2011 Pacific Urban Forum (the Forum) reaffirmed commitment to the Pacific Urban Agenda (PUA) that was developed in 2003 and endorsed by the United Nations ESCAP Commission in 2004 and by the Pacific Island Forum Leaders in 2005. The Agenda was subsequently reviewed and endorsed by the Pacific Urban Forum in 2007 (see Annex A). The Forum, organized by UN ESCAP in association with the Commonwealth Local Government Forum and UN Habitat was held in Nadi from 30 November to 2 December 2011. It was attended by representatives of ministries of national planning, urban agencies and local governments from Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu and development partners (Asian Development Bank, AusAID, New Zealand Aid Programme, the Pacific Institute of Public Policy, Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, the Pacific Regional Infrastructure Facility, United Nations Development Programme and United Nations Population Fund), NGOs and academia.
