The Central African Republic (CAR) is in a deep and complex crisis with considerable humanitarian consequences. Continuous insecurity, logistical constraints and declining funding hamper humanitarian access and explain the difficulties in meeting the needs of the most vulnerable. Central Africa is one of the poorest and most volatile countries in the world. If the 2013 crisis was politico-military, it turned into an unprecedented intercommunity conflict. It caused the collapse of already weak socio-economic infrastructures. The lack of basic social services is almost total and the redeployment of the services of the State is struggling to materialize.
