The CAR is currently the scene of one of the most serious humanitarian crises in the world: more than one in two people need humanitarian assistance to survive and one in four people are either displaced or refugees. The magnitude and severity of needs reached in 2017 recalls the situation that led to the 2013-2014 crisis. The impact of repeated and longer-term displacement creates a domino effect that plunges communities, already weakened by the multiple cycles of conflict in recent years, into the humanitarian crisis.
