Syrian refugee children face an array of challenges in their respective host countries. Education, though often considered less urgent than other humanitarian services from donors’ perspectives, is one of the most highly demanded humanitarian service among refugees. In Lebanon, perhaps the most pressing problem with respect to education is access to education for Syrian refugees. This begs the following questions: Why are so many Syrian refugee children in Lebanon not in school, and what can be done to mitigate this problem in the short term and ensure that all Syrian refugee children in Lebanon have access to education in the long term?
