In 2006 with the support of the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development, the Humanitarian Futures Programme (HFP), King’s College, London, was established. Its primary objective was to explore ways that those organisations with humanitarian roles and responsibilities could prepare to meet the humanitarian challenges of the future. The intention was and continues to be to look for “tools,” methods and approaches that would enhance the futures-oriented capacities of relevant organisations.
