This background paper underlines the major socio-economic repercussions of the lingering Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon, and highlights the policies and overall strategy of response of the Government of Lebanon, international agencies and other civil society organizations. The paper lays down the findings of the research (finalized in December 2014) in view of launching a dialogue among key national stakeholders about the socio-economic impact of the crisis and the relevant response strategies. The dialogue aims at building a common understanding on the various facets of the crisis and providing a knowledge base for the development of national policies.
