In September 2022, Uganda announced the first case of ebola in Mubende District. Since then, Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) teams in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH), have been on the ground carrying out surveillance, case management, safe and dignified burials. Psychosocial support to affected families, data collection, and alerts, and hygiene promotion at the community level among others. URCS plays an auxiliary role to the Government of Uganda in response to disease outbreaks at the community level.

Our staff and volunteers recount the most recent Ebola response in the Districts of Mubende, Kasanda, Jinja, and Masaka.
