The real-time evaluation of humanitarian action

This papers reviews the current use of real time evaluation (RTE) in the evaluation of humanitarian action. It begins with an introduction the background of humanitarian action; considers some of the challenges RTEs face, and reviews practices around team recruitment, methods, and outputs. It makes use of a dataset of 103 RTE to examine some of the issues discussed. It concludes by examining how the quality of RTEs could be improved.
