This briefing looks at the status of Syrian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey and the problems they’ve raised. The latter revolve around social services and good governance, legal rights, job opportunities, the conflict-insensitive practices of INGOs, etc. The briefing then considers how to 1) balance short-term refugee relief with long-term responses; 2) strengthen governance at all levels; and 3) promote greater social cohesion and integration.
