Syrian University Students & Scholars in Lebanon
This report on the conditions and educational needs of Syrian university students and scholars in Lebanon is part of a broader regional study by IIE and the UC Davis Human Rights Initiative. It follows the May 2013 report "Uncounted and Unacknowledged: Syrian Refugee University Students and Scholars in Jordan." When completed, the project will have brought together field-based research in jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey to assess the impact of the conflict in Syria and resulting refugee crisis on higher education in the front-line hosting states. The study aims to provide policy and programme recommendations for use b governments, multilateral agencies, international NGOs, donors, universitites, and other institutions, with the overall goal of improving access to higher education for displaced Syrian univeristy students and faculty.
