Final Summary Report
This study, conducted by Itad and AidData for FCDO’s Global Mine Action Programme, uses geospatial impact evaluation to assess the local socio-economic and stabilisation impacts of extensive landmine clearance activities carried out over the past three decades in Afghanistan. Findings show that clearance since 2008 has driven measurable economic growth, lasting increases in built‑up land, greater trust in local government, and higher aid investment, highlighting the importance of prioritisation strategies and the potential of GIS methods for evaluating mine action.
