This real-time review examines the role of the Congolese diaspora in supporting humanitarian response in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo following the escalation of the M23 conflict in early 2025. Drawing on mapping, surveys and interviews with diaspora organizations, local civil society, government representatives and humanitarian actors, the report explores how diaspora groups mobilize resources, partner with local organizations, navigate operational challenges, and contribute to locally led humanitarian action. It concludes with practical recommendations to strengthen coordination, remove barriers to engagement, and better integrate diaspora actors into the humanitarian system.
