This report is part of a series of studies intended to share emerging lessons and approaches as donors evolve their application of humanitarian–development–peace nexus commitments. Drawing on detailed analysis of Sweden’s and the United Kingdom’s respective approaches, it synthesises key lessons, practical examples and questions of wider relevance for other donors and agencies.

The report examines donor practice across three core areas: the policy frameworks that guide nexus work; the programme and allocation cycle through which it is implemented; and the organisational structures and systems that enable delivery. Recognising that there is no single model for putting the nexus into practice, the report aims to stimulate informed dialogue and support context-specific, considered action among donors operating in diverse political, institutional and resource environments.
