Organising towards a practice of decoloniality, refugee/IDP leadership, and power redistribution in humanitarian aid: experiences from inside the international humanitarian aid sector

Organising practise towards decoloniality thumbnail

This article is a reflection from humanitarian workers on the need to confront coloniality within aid organisations. It argues that without redistributing power to refugee- and IDP-led groups, the sector risks perpetuating exploitation under the guise of altruism. Decoloniality, the authors suggest, is not just about representation but about fundamentally rethinking structures, leadership, and accountability to build a more just and locally led humanitarian system.
