Since 2014, Türkiye has managed the world’s largest population under temporary and international protection, with over 4.3 million foreigners, including 2.9 million Syrians under temporary protection status.
Following the devastating February 2023 earthquakes (7.7 and 7.6 magnitude) that affected 15.7 million people and caused widespread destruction, Support to Life (STL) expanded its Survivor Community-Led Response (sclr) Program. This expansion built upon STL’s previous successful implementation of sclr during the 2021 forest fires and floods, bringing the total number of initiatives to 379 since 2021. The program aims to enhance community resilience through local leadership in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
This study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection tools to comprehensively evaluate both the sclr projects’ impact and their potential integration with Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM).
