What can humanitarians learn from Somalia’s response to the worst drought in four decades? What lessons can be drawn about the humanitarian system from the response in Somalia? How must humanitarian responses adapt in the future?

Drawing on insights from the Inter-Agency Humanitarian Evaluation(IAHE) of the Drought Response in Somalia, the panelists explored the successes and challenges of the humanitarian response in Somalia, along with ongoing efforts to enhance its effectiveness.

Panelists reflected on the learning from the drought response about needed changes to the broader humanitarian system. The conversation will also cover navigating the constraints of a limited funding environment, as panelists consider the future of humanitarian response in Somalia and beyond.
