COAST Foundation

COAST Foundation is a national NGO based in Bangladesh. The organisation emerged in 1998 as an NGO after a ten-year project managed by an international NGO. The initial project was situated in the south of Bhola island at the mouth of the Bay of Bengal, one of the world's most dangerous cyclone zones.

COAST focuses on supporting disadvantaged communities to become active partners in development initiatives. Their vision is for sustainable and equitable improvements in the lives of disadvantaged sections of the population, especially in coastal areas of Bangladesh, through their increased participation in the socio-economic, cultural and civil life.
