About the Explain briefing

In the humanitarian sector, learning isn't just about capturing lessons and experiences; it's also about creating opportunities for humanitarians to absorb and apply knowledge efficiently.

Operational decision-makers, regardless of their role, often have the least time to engage with critical new insights and evidence. To address this, ALNAP is exploring innovative ways to share knowledge that align with their unique needs, expectations, and preferences. In 2023, ALNAP launched Explain, a learning initiative designed to bridge this gap and empower decision-makers with actionable insights. So far we have covered accountability to affected populations, the climate crisis, humanitarian-development-peace nexus and locally led.
