This analytical report, jointly produced by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC), examines how food insecurity has evolved among internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Somalia over the period 2017–2024, using time-series IPC data disaggregated by displacement status. The report shows that, among internally displaced people (IDPs), 34 percent face acute food insecurity, compared with 15 percent of the non-IDP population. Regional mapping reveals significant geographic disparities and highlights how conflict, climate shocks, unstable livelihoods and limited access to assistance continue to drive vulnerability.
