In response to the internal displacement crisis in Somalia, IMPACT—through its REACH initiative and in collaboration with the National Centre for Rural Development and Durable Solutions (NCRDDS)—piloted the Area-Based Durable Solutions Toolkit, co-developed with the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (iDMC).
This report presents the qualitative, area-based assessment conducted in Baidoa as part of that piloting process, aimed at generating contextualised insights into the conditions and priorities of displaced communities. It complements existing national exercises such as the Durable Solutions Progress Survey (DSP) and the Durable Solutions Readiness Assessment (DSRA), adding qualitative depth that supports national strategies, including the Somalia Solutions Pathways Action Plan (2024–2029).
