Humanitarian organizations are moving from theory to practice with AI, using it to forecast displacement, deliver cash before floods, counter health misinformation, speed up crisis mapping, and provide refugees with timely information.
This report, developed by NetHope and the UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub, draws on 11 case studies to show how AI is being applied across the sector — from predictive models and mapping tools to chatbots and knowledge‑retrieval systems. Together, these examples offer a clear snapshot of what AI is already achieving in humanitarian work, the challenges that remain, and practical guidance for organizations beginning or scaling their AI journey
